Chakra Chant Meditation

Every Monday morning I host a chakra chant meditation in my Facebook group ‘Conversations with a Bodhisattva’…

Literally speaking the word Chakra from Sanskrit translates into wheel or disks. Chakras are the energy centres in the body.

Within these chakras is ‘prana’ or the ultimate pure healing energy that is all around us and within us, to keep us happy healthy and vibrant.

When the Chakras are open and aligned, our energy is constantly free flowing, allowing prana to flow through them

First Chakra – Root Chakra – Element earth – Colour red… Located between the anus, the genitals and the coccyx… It is the most primitive chakra and is associated with our material physical being, it is about our survival and shelter, security and possessions…

If it is blocked we might feel fearful, exhausted, have difficulty enjoying the physical reality… When it is flowing we experience mental stability and an endless capacity for work

Second Chakra – Sacral Chakra – Element water – Colour orange – Located between the pubic bone and the naval… It is related to creativity, intimacy, relationships, pleasure flowing…

When there is an imbalance we might fear ones own sexuality, experience anxiety about intimacy and lack creative energy… When it is open we have the ability to share ourselves, experience harmony in relationships and an ease with physical contact

Third Chakra – Solar plexus Chakra – Element fire – Colour yellow – Located in the stomach/ solar plexus… It is related to our sense of self in the world and the relationship between thinking and feeling…

If there is an imbalance we made feel a need to assert ourselves, feel stubborn and rebellious… When it is open we have natural authority with an ability to lead and organise

Fourth Chakra – Heart Chakra – Element air – Colour green – Located between the nipples and the centre of the chest… It is the bridge/ connecting point between the lower three chakras (tangible world and body) to the upper three chakras ( mental, mind. spiritual) It is about Love , dedication , unification and self realisation

When there is a lack of balance we might experience a problematic emotional life; difficulties in friendships and relationships, a struggle with body and mind… When it is in balance we experience openness, spontaneity and warmth

Fifth Chakra – Throat Chakra – Element ether – Colour blue – Located at the bottom of the throat… It is about expression, speaking and intuitive knowledge

When it is blocked we have trouble coming into contact with others, and find ourselves unable to give form to creativity… Trying to explain things with reason and /or reduce everything to techniques… When it is open and balanced we experience truthful self expression of self and have wisdom

Sixth Chakra – The Third Eye Chakra – Aum – Colour indigo – Located between the two eyebrows… It is about understanding, insight, reflection and occult knowledge

When it is out of balance we feel pessimistic, have a confused mind and shut our eyes to the lessons of life… When it is open we experience clear sightedness, intuition and premonition…

Seventh Chakra – Crown Chakra – Colour white or violet – Located at the top of the head… It is about our connection to the highest truth, spirituality and meditation

When there are imbalances we have a fear/ resistance to the realisation of spiritual possibilities; clinging to that which is material, in lack of spiritual energy… When it is open we radiate creative drive and spiritual energy

Satsang

to me

It was April 2020 and we were in ‘lockdown’ in the UK and Josie, one of my fabulous clients asked me if I would do a Satsang.

I said I would!

And so I met with twenty five others on Zoom.

Here is the Satsang I gave and the introduction to the chanting that we did together after it. But not the actual chanting.

We also had Q and A but I haven’t included that as I didn’t want to broadcast all the people who may not want to be seen!

Here is the beginning of the talk transcribed…

A Satsang is a gathering and it’s of a spiritual nature, and a true nature.

It’s a gathering of true people and so all of you gathered here today are true people.

What does it mean to be a true person?

It means that in any single given situation, whatever the circumstances – the true persons stay centred at all times….

A true person is conscious and aware and present in every single moment – whatever is going on – and doesn’t project any distress, any tension, any fear  – or anything they might be feeling with what is occurring within them onto the outer realms…

Lockdown and the unstable state of affairs all around asks that those committed to a spiritual path commit at an even deeper level to staying present and mindful in each moment and remembering they are spiritual beings, born of infinite love, on a human journey.
